Tanguy Ndombele has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur can win the Premier League this season.

Spurs currently sit in fifth place in the table, but their performances over the early part of the campaign have been highly encouraging.

Spurs have caused a huge threat to multiple sides already this term, with Jose Mourinho’s men being the top scorers in the top flight.

And Ndombele admits that he feels Spurs should dream of being champions, even if their aim was just to qualify for the Champions League.

“Our objective has always been to get into the top four,” he said. “More than that? Why not? But nobody wins the league in six matches.

“Even if we were top of the league at this stage there’d still be 32 matches to play.”

Tottenham would actually be leading the way right now, if they hadn’t have shown such vulnerability late on in matches.

Spurs have thrown away four points against West Ham United and Newcastle United late on, despite being in commanding positions in those fixtures.

If Mourinho’s men can eradicate those late-game problems though, then they could be a major threat this term.

The Premier League looks extremely open, and with Spurs possessing so much quality, they must be considered one of the most likely teams to take the title away from Liverpool, if Jurgen Klopp’s side falter.
