Alasdair Gold has shared that the Tottenham players have been ‘positive’ about their new manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, as he told his own YouTube channel.

The English journalist shared that Tottenham players are enjoying working with him and he has been ‘very direct’ and ‘honest’ with them.

It may have taken Spurs several months to land a new face for the dugout, but in the end, whether he was the first choice or not, they opted for the coaching talents of Nuno.

But so far things seem to be going well for the former Wolves coach, as Gold also shared what Japhet Tanganga said about Nuno.

“I certainly know the players are positive about Nuno so far,” said Gold. “They have enjoyed working with him.

“He’s very direct and honest. Japhet Tanganga told me, he used the word transparent about him.

“And I am told the players have been clearly told, they either are or aren’t in his plans.”

The problem facing Nuno when the season starts is that he cannot afford to get off to a poor start

If Spurs are struggling near the bottom half of the table after ten or so games then he will have the old, ‘he wasn’t the first pick’ thrown at him.

And Rafa Benitez will be in a similar situation at Everton, but more down the lines of his Liverpool past being brought up.

But if Nuno can channel the talents and progression he showcased in Wolves colours then Spurs will have a gem on their hands.
