Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham has reportedly been attracting interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
There is no doubt that the transfer story that has dominated the Midlands area in recent days has been Tammy Abraham’s potential departure from Aston Villa.
The Mirror reported that the Chelsea loanee failed to turn up to Villa training on Monday as Wolves want to sign the in-form striker this month.
In the Championship this season, Abraham has netted 16 goals for Dean Smith’s side, who are sitting outside of the playoff places.
There is nothing wrong with Abraham wanting to test himself at the highest level once again after his failed spell at Swansea City last season, which ended in relegation.
But there is a way of leaving a club and Abraham is going about it the wrong way after he failed to turn up to Villa training on Monday.
If the 21-year-old is still at the club come the weekend then Smith should not select the striker for Villa’s away clash at Wigan Athletic.
Abraham’s ill-mannered decision towards a club, that is still paying his wages, is disrespectful to those who have served him well at Villa Park.
There is no doubt that he deserves his chance to play in the Premier League because he has proven to be too good for the second tier of English football.
But his actions since the reported interest from Wolves hotted up will leave a sour taste in the supporters mouth and the coaching staff at the club if he eventually leaves.
