The Chelsea loanee missed the game through injury, which he clarified via his Instagram page.
Abraham said he was gutted to have missed the fixture.
Villa did not allow Abraham’s absence to stop them getting all three points, with Jonathan Kodjia scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory.
This was Villa’s 10th win in a row, a superb record for Dean Smith’s side.
Villa now sit in fifth place in the Championship and are play-off bound.
