Arsenal decided to loan out young winger Reiss Nelson on deadline day, sending him off to the Netherlands with Feyenoord.
The Gunners didn’t add a new winger this summer but that doesn’t push Nelson any closer to being in the first team plans under Mikel Arteta.
Sure, Nelson played 19 minutes for Arsenal as a substitute against Brentford on the opening day of the season, but he hasn’t been seen since.
The 21-year-old seemingly knew he wouldn’t feature much this season, and has now chosen to leave Arsenal for the season, joining Feyenoord.
The Dutch side had teed up a deal for Manchester United’s Amad Diallo, but that deal fell apart when Diallo picked up an injury, sparking the move for Nelson.
He will now compete with Luis Sinisterra and Alireza Jahanbakhsh in Feyenoord’s attack, and will hope to come back to England a better player.

Players from elsewhere are hoping to see Nelson thrive, as they will remember seeing just how good he was in a loan spell at Hoffenheim.
Striker Tammy Abraham – a boyhood Arsenal fan who missed out on a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer – has now offered his reaction having also clinched a switch abroad, leaving Chelsea for Roma.
Abraham took to Instagram to post just two words about Nelson’s move, stating ‘showtime broskiii’ as he seemingly can’t wait for Nelson to take centre stage in the Netherlands.
