Would Tammy Abraham’s arrival spur Jonathan Kodjia into being a consistent force for Aston Villa this season?

According to ESPN, Aston Villa are closing in on a loan move for Tammy Abraham.
If and when that happens it’d be a massive boost for Steve Bruce’s side, given how well the Chelsea striker did during his last spell in the Championship.
Abraham spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Bristol City and netted a superb 23 goals in 40 league outings for the Robins.
This is someone who could give Aston Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia a major kick up the backside, but it looks like he is already responding to the threat.
If the Abraham report is genuine then Kodjia and his Villa team-mates will have known about it before last night’s 2-2 draw with Brentford.
And the Ivorian striker scored twice – including a last-gasp equaliser – to earn Aston Villa a hard-fought point.
Kodjia scored his first goal in 11 months at the weekend and hopefully for Bruce the would-be arrival of Abraham will turn the 28-year-old into a different animal this season, having netted once in 18 games last term.
He can draw lots of motivation in the knowledge that if he gives Abraham a sniff in the first XI then it could be a long, long time before the Chelsea man relinquishes his grip on the number nine shirt.
Maybe, just maybe, someone of Abraham’s ability is exactly what Kodjia – who scored 19 goals during his first season – needs to rediscover his red-hot best form.
