Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is heading to Roma according to Fabrizio Romano – and that means no move to Arsenal.

Abraham may have finished last season with 12 goals in all competitions, but he was barely given a chance under Thomas Tuchel.

With Romelu Lukaku now in at Chelsea, Abraham’s chances of playing have diminished even further, and though he was on the bench to face Crystal Palace on Saturday, he’s now leaving.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to state that it’s a ‘done deal’ for Abraham to join Italian side Roma.

Romano claims that Abraham has accepted Roma’s offer and will sign a contract to join Jose Mourinho’s men for €40million (£34million) this week.

Chelsea are including a buy-back clause in the deal too, though the Blues will have to pay £68million to bring him back.

This means that Abraham – a boyhood Arsenal fan – will not be signing for the Gunners despite their alleged interest.

The Athletic report that Abraham had been telling Chelsea teammates that he wanted to sign for Arsenal this summer having grown up supporting the club.

Yet with no takers for Eddie Nketiah or Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal haven’t had room for Abraham, and no offer has come from Mikel Arteta’s side.

Abraham has seemingly given up waiting for Arsenal to make their move, and is heading off to Italy rather than switching West London for North London.
