Tam McManus has praised Hibernian midfielder and Celtic target John McGinn on Twitter.

The 23-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Alex McLeish recorded a first win as Scotland boss in tonight’s 1-0 victory away to Hungary.

McLeish paired McGinn with Celtic duo Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor in midfield and it looked a brilliant decision by the new manager.

A taste of the future for Celtic fans?

With Scott Brown getting on in years, McGinn has been touted as a long-term successor for ‘Broony’ at Parkhead and the way in which he impressed alongside the two Celtic lads tonight will have fans of the Premiership excited about that midfield combination in the future.

Hibs boss Neil Lennon slapped a £5 million price-tag on McGinn amid speculation about a move to the Hoops last summer, but he might be worth it, based on recent evidence.
