Former Hibernian forward Tam McManus has launched a strong defence of Rangers striker Jason Cummings on social networking site Twitter.

McManus has backed Cummings to score goals for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership, with the striker having recently joined the Gers on loan from Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old Scotland international scored in the Gers’ 2-1 victory over Ross County away from home in the Scottish Premiership at the moment.

The Scotland international failed to do much of note during the first half of the season at Forest, but the Scotland international was a success during his time at Hibernian.

Cummings is a very talented and promising young striker, and working under a manager like Graeme Murty at Rangers is only going to help him grow and develop.

Former Hibernian forward McManus has defended Cummings on Twitter and has backed the Forest-owned striker to be success at Rangers.
