Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic and Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been linked with John McGinn in the past.

Tam McManus has said on Twitter he is “100%” sure that Celtic and Rangers target John McGinn will be leaving Easter Road this summer.

The Hibernian midfielder has had a brilliant season under Neil Lennon and has attracted interest from Celtic and Rangers [Football Whispers].

Lennon has previously slapped a £5 million price-tag on the 23-year-old, which might rule out the Gers but their Old Firm rivals have the resources to make a deal happen.

McGinn was brilliant against Celtic again this past weekend and although he does not know where he’ll end up, McManus, who spent eight years at Hibs, is certain that the Scotland international will leave.

Celtic or Rangers?

Leaving finances aside for a moment, Brendan Rodgers has the greater need for somebody of McGinn’s ilk.

He has long been slated as a long-term successor for Scott Brown and although the Bhoys captain cleaned up at Celtic’s Player of the Year awards on Sunday, he turns 33 in June and Rodgers should be looking ahead.

Rangers, meanwhile, have a whole host of central midfielders and even though Graeme Murty is unlikely to stay at Ibrox beyond this season, centre-mid won’t be a priority for his successor in regards to summer targets.
