Tam McManus has claimed on Twitter that Steven Fletcher wants to move to Celtic in the summer transfer window.

The former Hibernian forward has stated that Fletcher, who is a free agent at the moment following his departure from Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship in England this summer, has moved back to Scotland and has bought a place in Glasgow.

McManus has added that wages would not be an issue for the 33-year-old Scotland international striker.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Fletcher made 23 starts and four substitute appearances in the Championship for Wednesday this season, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in the process.

The former Sunderland striker made 32 starts and eight substitute appearances in the league for the Owls during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths are the two main strikers at Celtic at the moment, and the addition of Fletcher to Neil Lennon’s side would make the Glasgow giants very strong indeed in attack.

The Hoops will be aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.
