Micky Gray wants Nicola Cortese at Sunderland.

Former Sunderland star Micky Gray has voiced his hope that Nicola Cortese will take over at Sunderland.
Cortese is the former chief executive at Southampton and is keen on a return to English football.

He appeared on Talksport earlier this week and Gray commented on Twitter that he felt Cortese is the perfect answer for troubled Sunderland.
The Black Cats had a difficult summer and this has continued with underwhelming results in the Championship.
Sunderland lost last night 1-0 to Nottingham Forest and already seem a long way off the Championship promotion race.
They have won just once from seven games and sit in 20th place out of 24 teams.
Cortese helped Southampton rise through the divisions from League One into the Premier League before departing the club in 2014.
