Talksport pundit says £7m Leeds player cannot ‘get around the pitch’

Gabby Agbonlahor has criticised Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford on talkSPORT (6:09pm, February 25, 2023).

The former Aston Villa striker has said that the Leeds star cannot get around the pitch.

The talkSPORT pundit made the observation about Bamford after Leeds beat Southampton 1-0 at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The £7 million (The Yorkshire Evening Post) English striker started the match and played for 86 minutes.

Agbonlahor said: “Whenever I have watched him recently, it doesn’t look like he can get around the pitch.”

Patrick Bamford has had injury problems this season, and it is clear that the Leeds United striker is not at his best.

Against Southampton on Saturday afternoon, the 29-year-old found it really tough and did not see enough of the ball inside the box.

Bamford is struggling.

That is clear.

However, we must not forget that it can take players a while to get back into their rhythm after injury problems.

And Bamford is playing as a striker for a team who could get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.
