Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to share some bad news with Leeds fans, as Barcelona ramp up their pursuit of Raphinha.

What’s the story?

Well, the reliable Italian journalist has provided an update on Barcelona’s quest to sign Raphinha, and it’s not good news for Jesse Marsch.

Romano believes Barcelona have been working on the deal for weeks, and talks have already started between Raphinha’s agent, Deco, and the Spanish giants.

Additionally, Romano claims that the Brazilian would be happy to leave Elland Road for the Camp Nou, where Xavi has inspired a turnaround.

Interestingly, it is also said that nothing has been discussed with Leeds yet.

By the sounds of it, Deco is taking matters into his own hands with his former club Barcelona, with Leeds yet to be involved in talks.

If true, that surely won’t please the likes of Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani.

Leeds must start search for Raphinha replacement

In our view, Leeds should already be looking for Raphinha’s replacement.

The South American has scored some significant goals for the Whites this season, and without those strikes, Leeds may already be relegated.

Raphinha’s nine Premier League goals have earned Leeds nine points, as he scored equalisers against Everton, Newcastle and Leicester, as well as winners against Crystal Palace and Norwich.

Leeds would be 19th with just 20 points to their name without those goals.

It will be extremely difficult to replace a player of Raphinha’s quality, which is exactly why Leeds need to start looking now – whatever happens this summer.
