Speaking on The Done Deal Show, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has been discussing Nicolas Pepe amid some recent links to Leeds United.
Diario de Sevilla linked Leeds with a move for the Ivorian earlier this week, but, to be honest, this rumour seemed a little far-fetched.
Pepe has struggled in the Premier League since signing for Arsenal and he’s on massive money at the Emirates, so a move to west Yorkshire didn’t quite make the most sense in our view.
Reports in Spain have linked Leeds with a move for Pepe, but after speaking to his sources, Jacobs says he isn’t sure that this one has much substance to it.

Jacobs shared what he knows about Pepe and Leeds.
“The other sort of left-field thing that has come around, but I am not so sure when talking to sources, is that Leeds are now coming into the conversation for Nicolas Pepe as well. Those reported have come out of Spain for Leeds. Let’s not forget that Sinisterra has arrived, but Leeds do need more attacking reinforcements. I’m not sure this is the right fit for Leeds United, but one to watch,” Jacobs said.
Don’t need him
This seems to be an unlikely transfer, and, to be honest, Leeds don’t need to sign Pepe.
The Whites already have the likes of Dan James, Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra able to play on the wings, while youngster such as Ian Poveda and Crysenscio Summerville are also developing nicely.
Factor in that Jesse Marsch’s preferred 4-2-2-2 system doesn’t necessarily utilise traditional wide players, and you can see that signing Pepe would potentially be overkill for Leeds.
The Whites don’t really need to sign Pepe.
