Charles Watts has shared that people who know Jurrien Timber have told him that he will be a ‘very, very solid addition’ for Arsenal.
The Ajax defender is a wanted man by Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, as he looks to boost his squad to challenge for the Premier League title again next season.
Football journalist Watts added that Jurrien Timber is someone who is ‘very comfortable on the ball’ and he is someone who will bring ‘versatility’ to Arsenal’s backline, as he told his own YouTube channel.
The 22-year-old mainly operates at centre-back, but he can also perform as a right-back, you can probably call him the Dutch version of John Stones.
Now, Timber has to do a lot to reach the heights of the England international, who played a major part in Manchester City winning the Treble last season.
Nonetheless, ahead of Timber’s arrival, Watts shared what he has been told about the player by those who know him.

“He is going to bring a lot of versatility to Arsenal,” said Watts. “I don’t know loads about him. I have spent a little bit of time recently talking to some people who do know him and how he plays.
“They think he would be a very, very solid addition to Arsenal. He can play a few different positions. Passing-wise, he’s very, very good. He’s very comfortable on the ball. Plays the ball out well. And seems to tick all the boxes at Arsenal.”

End of the road for Holding?
If Timber is signed, then it could be the end of the road for Rob Holding at Arsenal.
That would be the new arrival, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, January capture Jakub Kiwior and possibly Ben White all ahead of him in the pecking order.
If that’s the case, then it’s the right call, no matter how ruthless, because if Arteta wants to take the team to the title, then he needs to make such calls.
