Speaking on The Done Deal Show, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has been discussing Leeds United and he’s claimed that the Whites are interested in a move for Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech.

The reporter was discussing Chelsea’s own interest in Raphinha, and he says that sources at Leeds have told him that the Whites see Ziyech as a viable target this summer.

There are plenty of similarities between Ziyech and Raphinha. After all, they’re both right-sided players who love to cut in on their left, and Leeds would love to replace the Brazilian with the Moroccan.

What’s been said?

Jacobs spoke about Raphinha and Ziyech.

“Barcelona and Arsenal are the two leading clubs at the moment, but don’t be surprised if Chelsea advance their interest if they bring Hakim Ziyech into the equation, because my understanding, talking to Leeds sources, separate to Raphinha is that Ziyech has been a player on their radar.

“There might be a possibility to do some business with Raphinha going one way and Ziyech being given to Leeds, because Leeds don’t just want a chunk of money for Raphinha, they’d love a ready-made replacement and they see Ziyech as a viable option, and that will remain the case even if Raphinha goes elsewhere.”

Big signing

If Leeds sign Ziyech this summer that would represent the biggest signing they have made for years.

Yes, the Whites have spent big since being promoted, but Ziyech would be the single most high-profile transfer they’ve made since their return to the Premier League.

A Champions League winner who has previously had Europe’s elite chasing him, Ziyech has previously been described as a ‘sensation’ and we’re sure he would shine at Leeds.
