Vitaliy Mykolenko has been speaking to Dynamo TV after completing his £17.9m move to Everton from Dynamo Kyiv.

Interestingly, the 22-year-old revealed that he spoke to West Ham forward Andriy Yarmolenko before moving to the Premier League.

What’s the story?

Well, the left-back said both Yarmolenko and Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko spoke to him about the Premier League.

Mykolenko said: “I talked to Yarmola. Zinchenko called immediately after the signing. We talked about housing and household issues, as Yarmolenko lives in London and Oleksandr is much closer to Liverpool. We even discussed that we could live nearby.”

It seems Zinchenko had more of an influence on the call, helping the Ukraine international with housing as he’s based closer to Merseyside.

There aren’t many Ukrainian players in the Premier League, so it was a stroke of luck for Mykolenko to have two of his fellow countrymen to lean on.

Both have been in the Premier League for a few years now, so they should’ve been able to offer the Toffees new boy plenty of advice.

Vitaliy Mykolenko may have to be without Andriy Yarmolenko

Just as Mykolenko has arrived in the Premier League, Yarmolenko might be leaving England’s top-flight.

According to Alexander Petrakov – manager of Ukraine – the West Ham No.7 asked to play Under-23 football as David Moyes was not selecting him, possibly to stay in shape ahead of a move.

Yarmolenko also mentioned to Petrakov that a transfer window was approaching, which is now here.

iSport quote Petrakov as saying: “The coach does not play him. Andriy is a very serious person. When I asked him for the first time why he didn’t play for his club, he told me that there was a window coming up and that he asked to play for the U23s.”

By the sounds of it, Yarmolenko is not happy in east London, and wouldn’t mind a departure from the London Stadium this month.

Keep an eye on this saga, as an exit for the former Borussia Dortmund attacker cannot be ruled out before Deadline Day.
