Everton’s young attacker Ademola Lookman has been used sparingly this season.

Ademola Lookman is certainly a very exciting talent, but the young attacker has been used sparingly so far this season during a difficult start to the campaign for Everton.

Lookman, who can be deployed up front but is also capable of playing out wide if required, made a tremendous impact on his Everton debut in January following his switch from Charlton Athletic. He scored for the Toffees in the 4-0 victory over Manchester City.

Since then, however, Lookman has been unable to find the net in 16 senior appearances for Everton, although admittedly many of those outings have come as a substitute.

The 20-year-old has featured just twice in the Premier League this season, with both of those runouts having come as a substitute in recent weeks.

Everton, who are still yet to appoint a permanent manager following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman, are certainly in need of attacking inspiration at the moment and, despite being rather raw, Lookman can help the club in that regard.

Part of England’s successful U20 World Cup squad, Lookman is excellent technically and is capable of bursting past opponents with ease.

Although he has been far from prolific since joining Everton Lookman demonstrated during his time at Charlton that he can finish well and he is certainly capable of giving his team an extra edge in attack.
