A teenager who trialled with some of Europe’s top clubs before signing for Rangers last summer appears to have snuck out of Ibrox unnoticed.

Krystof Hampl played for Rangers at a youth tournament in Russia before announcing on Instagram that he had joined the Gers from FC Pardubice.

Hampl had previously attended auditions at Manchester United, Benfica and Braga, although his agent later claimed the then 16-year-old was ‘more interested’ in working with Rangers.

But his Instagram bio no longer contains any reference to the Gers.

According to the Czech fourth division side, FC Hlinsko, Hampl is now part of their first team.

And his Transfermarkt profile states he made the move from Rangers’ Under-18s on August 20, although it appears to have gone announced by both clubs.

There is no indication as to why things failed to work out for Hampl at Rangers.

But the chance to become ingrained within a first-team set up back in his home country seems like a positive step for him.
