Anyone who has had the pleasure of watching Rhian Brewster rise through the ranks at Liverpool will tell you that his fresh-faced goal-machine is a man with a big future.
Just ask Steven Gerrard.
The Anfield legend worked with a teenage Brewster during his spell as Liverpool’s U18 coach three years ago.
And it’s fair to say the London-born 20-year-old made a lasting impression on a man who would love to be reunited north of the border at Rangers.
“Everyone has seen it all over the world that Rhian is capable of scoring goals,” Gerrard told the Echo in 2017 after Brewster inspired England’s U19s to a 4-0 thrashing of Spain.
“And against Sevilla he was magnificent. We all know he has got the talent and the ability.

“If Rhian wants to go far and stay at the top, if he can put in that work rate and relentless running, that’s how he’s going to get the better of most defenders.”
With Liverpool expected to loan out arguably the biggest talent at Melwood during the summer transfer window, absolutely no one will be shocked to see Gerrard’s Rangers leap to the front of the queue, as reported by The Sun.
And, having proved himself in the senior game with a fine spell at Swansea City, a tantalising combination of explosive finishing and searing pace should have Scottish Premiership defenders quaking in their boots.
Gerrard said all those years ago that Brewster had everything in his locker to reach the very top. Now, the Rangers boss could help him get there.
