Everton and West Ham United reportedly want to bring Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey back to the Premier League, a transfer Wales boss Robert Page would seemingly support.

Page has told reporters, via Wales Online, that he would love to see Ramsey back playing week-in, week-out in England. Massimiliano Allegri has often overlooked the midfielder in Serie A fixtures this season, with just three appearances so far.

Ramsey also only started the Bianconeri’s first league game of the campaign on August 22, while playing just 38-minutes since. Even in Europe, Allegri has been loath to unleash the 30-year-old Page considers an ‘outstanding’ talent, with a mere eight-minutes.

Everton and West Ham are paying close attention to Ramsey’s situation at Juventus ahead of the January transfer window. The Sun report the Old Lady are ready to release him free of charge to remove his £400k-a-week contract.

Reports by TuttoJuve also claim Ramsey likes the idea of a transfer to Everton, rather than West Ham. Either would satisfy Page, as the Wales boss longs to see him play often again.

“All I know is I’ve got a great player,” he said. “We’ve all seen glimpses of what he’s capable of doing in the summer. I thought he was outstanding. Having worked with him for the first time in an intense environment, it is a crying shame he’s not playing week-in, week-out.

“I’d love to see him in the Premier League [again]. The supporters need to be watching him to see him. Watching him in training today, he does things, it takes your breath away.”

Should Everton or West Ham satisfy Page’s Ramsey transfer desires?

Page’s belief in Ramsey offers Everton and West Ham cause to strike a deal with Juventus for a January transfer. The 67-cap midfielder knows all there is to know about the Premier League from his time at Arsenal. While also helping the Gunners lift three FA Cups.

Injuries have ensured Ramsey has struggled at Juventus since leaving the Emirates Stadium in 2019, however. Although he insists, via the Daily Mail, the Bianconeri’s mismanagement has restricted his game time as he can play regularly. While Page also reflected on how the West Ham and Everton transfer target has gone to extra lengths to maintain his fitness.

“Aaron’s learning now the older he gets to manage his body, from a conditioning point of view,” Page said. “He’s taken it upon himself to employ other physios and fitness coaches to maintain that level that he got to in the Euros.

“The levels he got to and the consistency throughout the tournament that he got, I expect exactly the same from this camp. When you’ve got people like Aaron on the team sheet, opposition managers will take note. In big games, he steps up to the plate.”
