Victor Anichebe labelled Harry Kane ‘a joke’ on his Instagram story after the Tottenham striker scored his 150th Premier League goal on Sunday during his side’s 1-0 win at West Brom.

During his playing days, Anchiebe represented the likes of Everton and West Brom, so he knows exactly how tough it is to put the ball into the back of the net in England’s top-flight.

Whilst Kane netting his 150th in the league by the age of 27 will earn headlines, it needs to be remembered that Spurs secured a valuable three points at the Hawthorns to keep those in North London dreaming about a serious title challenge.

Nonetheless, this is what Anichebe wrote on his Instagram story when reacting to Kane reaching yet another milestone.

“@HarryKane is a joke,” added with a fire emoji. “So consistent year in year out. Takes some doing that! 150 goals in the Premier League at only 27. Ridiculous.”

Many feel Kane’s stoppage-time free-kick winner at Villa Park many years ago was the start to the road he now finds himself going down.

There’s no doubt that Alan Shearer’s Premier League record is in sight and he will also be looking to dethrone a certain Wayne Rooney from the top of the goalscoring charts for England.

But if Kane is unable to add trophies to those goals then it will be a dampener on a career that can reach any heights he wishes.

He’ll just be hoping that he can reach those levels with Spurs and Jose Mourinho.
