Fabrizio Romano has said on Matt Hayes’s YouTube channel that Takehiro Tomiyasu wants to join Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Tomiyasu’s dream is to play for Tottenham and to play in the Premier League.
Romano has said that there is no agreement yet between Tottenham and the Japan international central defender’s club Bologna over a deal.
The SkySport and The Guardian journalist has added that Bologna made a bid for the 22-year-old, who can play as a central defender or as a right-back.
Romano has said on Matt Hayes’s YouTube channel: “Atalanta made a bid three weeks ago, but at the moment, there is still no agreement with Bologna because the priority for the player is to join Tottenham.
“I think in the next days we will have the situation clear. And also Tomiyasu is waiting to understand what happens because his dream is joining the Premier League, his dream is joining Tottenham.”

Get the deal done
If Tomiyasu wants to join Tottenham and Bologna are willing to sell the Japan international, then the North London club should get a deal done.
Now.
The Athletic reported last week that Spurs are close to agreeing a deal with Bologna over Tomiyasu.
Pre-season training at Tottenham has already started, and it is important that new head coach Nuno knows which players will be at his disposal for next season.
Now, Tomiyasu will play for Japan at the Tokyo Olympics and will not be available for Nuno even if Spurs get the deal done now.
But it will help Nuno at least plan ahead knowing that he would have Tomiyasu to call upon.
