Italian giants Juventus are reportedly open to offering Weston McKennie to Arsenal in exchange for Granit Xhaka.
According to CalcioMercatoWeb via TuttoJuve, Massimiliano Allegri is keen to sign a midfielder this January. As per the report, Xhaka is ‘a welcome name’ for the Serie A side.
However, because of the club’s lack of finances, they will only be able to offer a player in exchange for Xhaka rather than an offer, which is where McKennie comes into the fold.
The American international is seemingly not in Juventus’ plans despite being one of the club’s best players last season. At the age of 23, as well, McKennie is one of the youngest names in the Old Lady’s squad.
Indeed, the report seems almost too good to be true for Arsenal. The club tried to sell Xhaka this summer, but were unable to agree on a fee with AS Roma, yet Juventus could have just offered the Gunners a perfect solution in McKennie.
With the midfielder six years younger than Xhaka and already established at one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Arsenal fans on social media are begging Juventus to make the swap deal with McKennie.
