West Ham and Aston Villa fans have reacted to Daniel Sturridge’s comments after he told Sky Sports that he wants to make a ‘return’ to the Premier League.
Sturridge is currently a free-agent – he last played in Turkey – and given the 30-year-old’s experience and record in the Premier League, he could be a smart purchase for someone in England’s top-flight.
The one big problem for Sturridge is that he is injury-prone and it has been the main reason as to why his career has stagnated during these past few years.
There were some West Ham fans who can see their owners signing up the former Liverpool man given that they like to conclude such deals, and have done so before – even if they don’t want him signed up.
Whilst some Aston Villa fans were debating whether they should offer him a contract given that they need experience, firepower and he wouldn’t cost them anything in regards to a transfer fee.
Both clubs survived relegation to the Championship last season after a campaign of struggle, especially in the final third.

A player like the eight-goal England man, who has two Champions League medals to his name and a Premier League title, would be a good fit on paper, but there hasn’t been much on the paper from him for many years now.
