Aston Villa fans have stated on Twitter that they would sign Danny Rose after Tottenham opted to not hand him a squad number this season.
Rose’s future has been up in the air in North London for some while now and Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he is ‘happy’ for him to leave, as quoted by Sky Sports.
There is a selection of Villa fans who have stated that they wouldn’t mind bringing him from North London to the West Midlands.
Dean Smith is beginning to pick up his transfer business this summer, with the signing of Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest, club-record purchase of Ollie Watkins and the rumours that Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is close to joining the club [The Independent].
The Villa Park faithful stated that they wouldn’t mind adding Rose to that list because he would add much-needed quality and competition for the left-back spot.
Matt Targett is Villa’s number one left-back, and whilst he is brilliant going forward, he has had his troubles from a defensive standpoint.

Neil Taylor is the back-up option to Targett, but quality-wise, Villa fans seemingly want a more established player to challenge the former Southampton man and they think Rose could provide that.
If a team in the Premier League can get Rose back on the pitch, enjoying his football and performing back at this best then he would back himself to be one of the best left-backs in the country.
But there is, of course, the worry that his form has dipped at an alarming rate for the past 18 months and he’s not getting any younger.

Villa have mainly pushed for the younger and inexperinced players ever since their promotion to the Premier League last summer.
But it was clear last season that they need that experience, not much, but drops of it around the squad and then it could help evelvate the team.
A player like Rose would tick that box, it’s just a case of getting the quality out of him.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Villa fans reacting to the Rose news:
