Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Jordan Henderson has been full of praise for Alisson Becker after his performance against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners against Palace, but the performance wasn’t quite as comfortable as the scoreline suggests.
Indeed, the London club had their fair share of chances, but the imperious Alisson Becker made sure that the Eagles couldn’t get the better of the Reds on Sunday.
Henderson reserved some special praise for Alisson after the Palace game.
What’s Henderson said about Alisson?
The midfielder had plenty of good things to say about the goalkeeper.
“He was [outstanding], but he’s always like that, to be honest!” Henderson said.
“You do take him for a granted a little bit. With the saves that he makes, he makes them look so easy, but there was a couple of big moments in the second half that he sort of dug us out and kept us in the game.
“So, a massive performance from him and ultimately he gets us the three points.”
Doesn’t get the credit he deserves
It’s great to see Alisson get the credit he deserves for his performance against Palace.
As Henderson says, people often take the goalkeeper for granted, but on Sunday, he showed why he is truly one of Liverpool’s most important players.
If the Reds are to win the Premier League title this season, they will owe a lot to their goalkeeper, and while the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah receive most of the praise, Alisson should be held in the same regard.
