Tottenham Hotspur fans were waxing-lyrical about Luka Modric’s performance as he helped Real Madrid record a 3-1 win against Barcelona on Saturday.

Even at the age of 35, Modric was still wowing the Spurs fans, who were lucky to see him showcase his stuff during some of the best moments of his career when he was in North London.

Well, they were impressed with the performance and the goal he scored against Barcelona yesterday, which helped Real Madrid seal a valuable three-points against their bitter rivals.

Modric sealed the game in the dying moments of the match when he toyed with the Barca’s defence and goalkeeper Neto by faking to shoot, before sending several of them to the floor and then dispatching the ball with precision into the back of the net.

It was a goal full of grace, brilliant technique and calmness, which has personified the one-time Ballon d’Or winner.

But for Real fans, and those wearing the colours of Tottenham, it’s what they have been used to and their previously high praising words of the Croatian star were echoed once again.

Around world football, there aren’t many touchlines that can boast two individuals who were such legendary figures during their hay-day.

And whilst they once had that talent, they cannot translate that onto the pitch any more, other than trying to use their managerial qualities to change their fortunes around.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to Modric’s display:
