It may come down to a straight choice between the Norwich City and Liverpool striker…
Which ‘big man’ should Roy Hodgson go for?
Should we just be thankful we have two alternatives to Peter Crouch?
The Euro 2012 squad will be announced on Wednesday, and there will be many dilemmas for the new boss to make.
Among them will be, what is of greater value; Grant Holt’s season long consistency for Norwich, or Andy Carroll’s seemingly strong end for Liverpool.
Both strikers have an opportunity to rubber-stamp their cases tomorrow. Carroll’s Liverpool travel to Swansea City, while Norwich host Aston Villa.
A brace for either could just sway the new England manager’s thinking ahead of his announcement in midweek.
We asked in a poll on HITC Sport earlier in the week, who should go to Poland and Ukraine with England, here are the results.
Andy Carroll; 28 per cent
Grant Holt; 70 per cent
Neither; two per cent.
A resounding victory for Holt, but it will matter little if he is not chosen on Wednesday.
Will Hodgson make the same choice? Let us know who would be your preference…
