Romario Vieira was part of the Leeds United under-23 side that faced Tadcaster Albion on Tuesday.

Michael Morton has tipped Romario Vieira for a very bright future after the midfielder’s display in Leeds’ under-23s side’s draw with his Tadcaster Albion team on Tuesday night, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.

Vieira – who was part of Tadcaster’s academy earlier in his career, and, of course, is the brother of Whites first-team ace Ronaldo – played as Leeds’ youth side claimed a 1-1 draw with Jamie Shackleton scoring the second-half equaliser.

But while Shackleton scored Leeds’ goal, it was Vieira who greatly impressed Morton with his display.

“I thought he was just tremendous. He understands his role, wins the ball, and keeps it simple. He has got a bright future ahead of him. Just hopefully he will get into the first team, hopefully this year, if not pushing for next year,” he said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Despite his potential, Vieira’s Leeds career to date has been overshadowed by the start to life at Elland Road that his twin brother has enjoyed – but Thomas Christiansen will be hoping that Ronaldo’s progress pushes and motivates his sibling to challenge for a first-team role in the coming months.

And while that first-team spot may seem an ambitious target at this current stage – especially as there appears to be a lot more competition for a place in the centre of the midfield than there was when Ronaldo was given a chance – it perhaps should not be forgotten that Ronaldo Vieira adapted to the step-up possibly better than anyone could have imagined.

So perhaps it is not out of the question to suggest that if he is given the chance, Romario Vieira will grasp the opportunity and quickly establish himself as a member of the first-team squad.
