Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has criticised Tottenham Hotspur midfielders Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur for making tactical fouls at Stamford Bridge in London, as quoted in Football.London.

Tuchel’s Chelsea played out a 2-2 draw with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham at home in the Premier League on Sunday.

It was a very feisty derby that had lot of controversial incidents.

Chelsea boss Tuchel was not happy with the refereeing decisions in the London derby, and he believes that the officials should have penalised Tottenham midfielders Hojbjerg and Bentancur for their tactical fouls.

Tuchel told Football.London: “When Reece James did a tactical foul it was a yellow card, how many tactical fouls did (Pierre-Emile) Hojbjerg do today?

“He hit Reece James in his neck in front of both benches and the fourth official told me they’d go back to it because it was advantage. Did he go back to it? No he did not.

“Bentancur did three, four, five, six tactical fouls [and didn’t get a yellow card]. It’s a clear foul on Kai Havertz who goes towards goal.

“It stands and goes and it’s the build to the 1-1. Huge, huge misinterpretation of situations. I’m happy to let the game go, but let it go in every direction please and not like this. This is, yeah, it’s what it is today and it will not go away. I don’t even know if I will get punished for my sentences now. So it’s the same.”

Entertaining and exciting

The London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday was hugely entertaining and exciting.

It was a match that had everything, as the two Premier League clubs went at each other.

Tuchel and Conte had confrontations of their own, and passion was high.

Chelsea were arguably the better team over the course of the 90 minutes, and Tottenham were probably lucky to pick up a point from the encounter.

Tottenham will be pleased that they were able to pick up a point from the encounter, and Conte will be delighted with how his players played in the second half.
