Bayern Munich are mulling a U-turn over the future of Corentin Tolisso and may now hand the reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target a new contract, according to Kicker.
Tolisso is a free agent at the end of the season, having now entered the final six-months of his deal. But Der FCB are reluctant to let the Frenchman leave the Allianz Arena without compensation after losing David Alaba to Real Madrid on a Bosman deal last year, as well.
The Bundesliga side offering Tolisso a new contract in December was unthinkable after an injury-hit start to the term. He featured in just one of the Bavarian giants’ first eight league fixtures, while also only starting one in 12.

However, Tolisso has since impressed Bayern Munich’s hierarchy with his performances in boss Julian Nagelsmann’s plans. The 28-cap international stepped up in Joshua Kimmich’s absence and has offered Der FCB a constant reminder of his qualities.
His performances have caused the Bayern leadership to mull over a potential new contract and will further study his situation. But a new deal still remains in the distance at present.
Bayern to deal Tottenham transfer blow with new Tolisso contract?
Bayern Munich could deal Tottenham Hotspur a blow to the Premier League side’s transfer plans by offering Tolisso a new contract. Football Italia noted in November that Spurs were on pole ahead of Inter Milan, Juventus and Roma for any move.
The north Londoners can present Tolisso better terms to join Antonio Conte’s rebuild than Inter, Juve or Roma can offer. Inter, in particular, are reluctant to match the Frenchman’s request of a €6m-a-year (£96k-a/w) wage to join on a Bosman.

Bayern Munich and Tolisso seemed to boost Tottenham’s transfer hopes in December, too. Foot Mercato reported both the Bundesliga outfit and player were open to parting as early as the January window. Even though they only hold a six-point lead atop the league table.
Der FCB particularly liked the idea to avoid losing their €41.5m (£35m) ex-record signing for free. But Tolisso – who former Bayern Munich striker Jean-Pierre Papin once told Bild is a ‘dangerous’ midfield goal threat – may now force a U-turn and deny Tottenham a transfer.
