Rangers defender Philippe Senderos has been criticised by his compatriot Kubilay Turkyilmaz.
Rangers’ Philippe Senderos looks dejected after being shown a second yellow card and sent off
Former Swiss international Kubilay Turkyilmaz has told The Scottish Sun that he thinks Rangers new boy Philippe Senderos was a ‘lost soul’ at Grasshopper Zurich last season.
Senderos, 31, joined Rangers on a free transfer back on deadline day following a successful trial spell at Ibrox, with manager Mark Warburton looking for some veteran help in the heart of his defence.

With experience of playing for the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Valencia, Senderos possesses a great CV – and it’s made even more impressive by the fact that he has played in three World Cups for Switzerland.
Senderos was thrown straight into the Rangers side to take on Celtic in the Old Firm derby earlier this month, and it’s fair to say he had a nightmare.
Celtic’s powerful, pacy striker Moussa Dembele ran rings around him for much of the game, before Senderos was sent off for a second bookable offence in the second half.

Senderos looked slow and off the pace throughout, and former Swiss international Kubilay Turkyilmaz has offered some brutally honest comments on his compatriot.
Turkyilmaz – Switzerland’s third-highest goalscorer of all time – has been quoted by The Scottish Sun as saying that he thinks Senderos’ career has been a ‘disaster’ since losing his place at Arsenal.

He added that Senderos looked like a ‘lost soul’ at Grasshopper Zurich last season, and says he can’t achieve any consistency if he keeps jumping from club to club.
“Ever since Philippe lost his first-team place at Arsenal his career has been a disaster from the planning point of view,” said Turkyilmaz. “AC Milan, Everton, Fulham, Valencia, Aston Villa, Grasshoppers — a random and speedy succession of clubs.”
“He has repeatedly gone from one country, coach, philosophy and style of play to another. You can’t achieve any consistency that way. When he played for Grasshoppers he struck me as a lost soul. It was as though he had forgotten what a central defender needs to do.”
