Michael Doughty celebrates scoring Swindon’s second goal
Swindon Town twice came back from a goal down to secure a 2-2 draw at Peterborough United on Saturday in League One.
Peterborough had taken the lead in the 36th minute when Gwion Edwards headed in Marcus Maddison’s free-kick, but Swindon drew level early in the second half when Michael Doughty converted from the penalty spot.
It was sweet retribution for Doughty after it was his foul that had harshly conceded the free-kick for Peterborough’s opener.
New signing Sean Murray came on in the 59th minute to make his debut for Swindon but had a nightmare start to his Robins’ career as he himself gave away a penalty four minutes later.
The 22-year-old Murray tripped Chris Forrester in the area and Maddison made no mistake in restoring Peterborough’s lead.

The Robins fought back again and found another equaliser in the 76th minute. Doughty whipped in a dangerous cross and Posh defender Jack Baldwin turned the ball into his own net.
Substitute Luke Norris came close to finding a winner late on for the Robins but failed to hit the target, and so the two sides shared the spoils.

Swindon fans were pleased with the character shown by the team as they fought hard to take a point away from home. In particular, the performance of Michael Doughty came in for praise.
The Robins continue their League One campaign with a visit Oxford United next Saturday at 3pm.
