The Owls keeper parried the ball into the danger zone and helped the opponents open the scoring at Hillsborough.

A number of Sheffield Wednesday fans have been taking to Twitter to comment on Keiren Westwood’s display for the Owls in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Fulham at Hillsborough.
The 34-year-old had a difficult shift against the Cottagers – his connection with Joe Bryan’s cross near the end of the first half saw the ball palmed into the path of Tom Cairney to break the deadlock against the run of play.
Westwood’s distribution was also largely hit and miss throughout the game but in the end he was spared his blushes as an injury-time header from substitute Atdhe Nuhiu forced a draw and rescued a point for Garry Monk’s side.
Here is what some Wednesday fans wrote on social media regarding Westwood’s error:
Westwood has made seven appearances for Wednesday this term and 172 in all competitions for the Owls since his arrival on a free transfer in 2014, and is currently rated at £450,000 by Transfermarkt.
Earlier this summer, he penned a new two-year deal at the Yorkshire club, as confirmed by their official website and social media channels.
