Leeds United linked with partnership with Swedish club.
Leeds United’s growing global network could be expanding to Sweden, according to a club in the country.
The club is in Sweden’s second division and were formed back in 1921.
They are currently managed by Adie Costello, former academy boss at York City, and he has led the talks with Leeds.
Ytterhogbdals IK posted on their official club website: “Today, our coach Adie Costello has visited the Championship club Leeds United to form a collaboration between the clubs.
“It was a very successful meeting according to Costello.”
Since owner Andrea Radrizzani took over at Leeds last year, the club have formed partnerships with clubs in Spain and Belgium.
These have come through Qatar’s Aspire Academy, where Leeds director Ivan Bravo is a director, with Leeds partnering with Cultural Leonesa and Eupen.
Sweden would be a logical place for Leeds to grow links, with the club boasting strong Scandinavian support.
They have also got two Swedes in their first team squad, Pontus Jansson and Pawel Cibicki, and took two Swedish youngsters on trial in mid-January.
