Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Keane Lewis-Potter ahead of his potential move to Brentford.
The Hull City attacker has been strongly linked to a number of Premier League clubs this summer including West Ham and Leeds, but it now seems as though the attacker will be moving to Brentford.
According to Bailey, West Ham are going to lose the race for the Hull ace due to the fact they couldn’t guarantee him regular first-team football, so that has swayed the deal in Brentford’s favour.
What’s been said?
Bailey spoke about Lewis-Potter.
“Keane Lewis-Potter, there have been a lot of talks for him, Watford have had a bid rejected for him, West Ham have looked at him closely. The thing with West Ham is that they couldn’t guarantee him first-team football, so that has swayed the deal for Brentford here. He’s a very good player, he’s a bit like Jarrod Bowen and he’s a huge talent,” Bailey said.

Tough
West Ham are in a very tough spot right now where they want to add depth to an overperforming squad.
With all due respect, a player like Lewis-Potter would probably be happy to be a rotation option for one of the traditional big six, but West Ham aren’t as safe a bet despite two brilliant seasons under David Moyes.
As a young player, you can chase first-team action or you can chase success, and sadly, in certain positions, West Ham can’t guarantee either.
The Hammers may find themselves in a similar situation on a few more occasions this summer.
