An Aston Villa player has been praising Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground – and no, it isn’t Jack Grealish.
Gareth Southgate’s England side have been training at Hotspur Way lately to prepare for their Euro 2020 games.
In addition to having a £1 billion stadium, Tottenham also have state-of-the-art training facilities.
And one player who’s floored by them is Aston Villa and Three Lions centre-back Tyrone Mings, who labelled the conditions as ‘unbelievable’.
The £25 million powerhouse told England’s YouTube channel: “I have never been here before in this unbelievable set-up. I thought we had a good training ground until I came here.”
Here’s how some fans of the North London club reacted to Mings’s comments on Twitter:
Rudderless
The Tottenham supporters might’ve been a little more exciting if it was a certain Grealish hailing the club’s training ground, given that they’ve tried to sign him on a few occasions in recent years.
And the quoted Spurs fans are right in saying that there’s no point in having plush facilities if the hierarchy is rather rudderless, which it is right now.
It has been two months since chairman Daniel Levy fired Jose Mourinho and the Lilywhites’ faithful are no closer to knowing who will be replacing him, after talks with Paulo Fonseca broke down on Thursday.
Levy then pulled the plug on the appointment of Gennaro Gattuso after huge opposition from the supporters and now it’s anyone’s guess who’ll be sitting in the hot seat.
