Some Manchester City fans have been reacting on social media after Danilo told Gazzetta dello Sport that he would like to see Juventus sign Gabriel Jesus this summer.

Danilo left the Etihad Stadium for the Allianz Stadium in 2019 as part of a player-plus-cash deal for Joao Cancelo. The Brazilian now wants the Old Lady to speak with the Citizens and reunite him with his compatriot.

Juventus have explored signing Jesus from Manchester City this summer, per Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian publication claimed last month that the Turin powerhouse view Jesus as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester City are also open to Jesus leaving, despite the Manchester Evening News noting he’s still ‘highly-rated’ at the club. The Sun reported the Citizens offered their £27m striker to Tottenham Hotspur as part of a deal for Harry Kane.

Spurs are interested in Jesus, as well, per the Daily Star, but Danilo believes a move to the Serie A would be a good fit for his compatriot and former Manchester City teammate.

“Of course, Gabriel is good and very intelligent,” Danilo said. “He could grow more in Italy because in Serie A, they close down well and it’s harder to score. If I could, I would bring him to Juventus.”

But a few Manchester City fans reacting to Danilo’s comments on social media would urge Pep Guardiola to rebuff any bid by Juventus to sign Jesus this summer. That’s because they believe the £90,000-per-week frontman needs to stay and kick on at the Etihad Stadium.

Others, however, would welcome a move by the Old Lady to sign their 33-cap Brazilian. But only on for a lofty fee or under certain conditions, like a swap deal for Federico Chiesa.

The 23-year-old is halfway through a two-year loan with Juventus, after which they can buy him for £54m, per BBC Sport. Chiesa scored 14 goals and 10 assists in all competitions in his debut season at the Allianz Stadium, and has been a star for Italy at Euro 2020.

Chiesa scored only his second and third international goals at the tournament against Austria and Spain. His strike against the 2012 champions putting Italy ahead before Spain took the tie to penalties. The 31-cap attacker did not take a spot-kick after going off injured.
