Newcastle United and Anderlecht should consider swapping the two strikers.
Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is desperate to bolster his attacking ranks at St James’ Park this summer, but it is common knowledge that he has limited funds available with which to strengthen his squad.
With this in mind, the Spaniard will have to be smart in his recruitment, and an interesting option for him could be a swap deal involving Aleksandar Mitrovic and Anderlecht hitman Lukasz Teodorczyk.
The Serbian’s days at Newcastle appear to be numbered, and Rafa is willing to sell him, but not to another Premier League club, according to the Telegraph.
Mitrovic joined the Magpies from Anderlecht in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £14.5 million, but he has struggled to establish himself on Tyneside.
The Belgian side have made no secret of their desire to bring the 23-year-old back to the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, with the player himself keen on a return to his former club, according to Belgian media outlet Nieuws Blad.
Everything seems to point towards a swap deal between Mitrovic and Teodorczyk being the ideal solution for all parties concerned.
The 26-year-old Poland international would be a useful signing for Newcastle.
He is competent in front of goal, having scored 24 goals in 47 league outings for Anderlecht, and standing at 6ft 1in tall, he possesses the kind of frame that is needed to be a success in England.
If Rafa could somehow engineer a deal whereby Mitrovic leaves St James’ Park, and Teodorczyk heads in the opposite direction, it could turn out to be a really significant piece of business for Newcastle.
With just four days remaining until the transfer window slams shut, this will certainly be one for Magpies fans to keep a close eye on.
