Everton are considering a bid for Swansea City star Fernando Llorente, reports ESPN, as they continue to look for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku left for Manchester United in a £75m deal earlier this summer and despite having signed Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney, manager Ronald Koeman has admitted he wants to secure another striker before the window closes on Thursday (August 31).

The Toffees’ performance in a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend shows that they need one too, with Rooney and Sandro paired upfront and failing to impress.
Therefore Llorente could be exactly what Koeman needs – a strong and physical focal point in attack, who scored 15 league goals in 33 appearances for the Swans last season.
With the creativity of his former Swansea teammate Gylfi Sigurdsson and Davy Klaassen in behind, the Spaniard could shine at Goodison Park, but with the forward turning 33 in February this would be a short-term solution at best.

Which is fine, but with Chelsea also interested in Llorente after having a January bid for the 32-year-old rejected, it could become a bidding war – especially as the South Wales outfit understandably don’t want to sell their topscorer.
Deadline day can see clubs panic and overpay for players to try and plug gaps in their squad and while the Spain international could be a success under Koeman, Everton need to be careful they don’t fall into that trap.
