Swansea host Sunderland at the Liberty Stadium this weekend.

This weekend sees Swansea City hosting Sunderland at the Liberty Stadium in a battle at the bottom of the table.

Neither side has enjoyed a good first half of the campaign, with the Swans bottom of the table and Sunderland in 18th place.

Both sides are in desperate need of points, especially Bob Bradley’s team, who are three points from safety at this moment in time.

If they are to get out of their current predicaments they will need their strikers in fine form.

Jermain Defoe has currently done just that for Sunderland while Fernando Llorente has shown flashes of his quality since joining the Swans.

So how do the two players compare so far this season? We’ve taken a look at the stats to find out.

As it turns out it is Defoe who has been the better, coming out on top in five of eight key areas.

So far he has registered more shots per game, 2.5 compared to 1.8 and enjoyed a better overall shooting accuracy than Llorente.

That has seen him score eight goals in the league so far, the Spaniard only has three to his name. He does, however, come out on top in terms of shots on target per game.

Defoe has the better overall passing accuracy, though, and has registered two assists while Llorente is yet to register one this season.

A win for Defoe, them, and Sunderland will be hoping he can come out on top when the two sides clash this weekend.
