Swansea City have reportedly turned down a bid from Sheffield United for star forward Oliver McBurnie.
The Blades are on the lookout for reinforcements as they look forward to a daunting yet hugely exciting Premier League season. United are arguably the favourites to get relegated but after all the odds that Wilder and his side have overcome over the last three years, Blades fans should be hopeful of a successful season.
With Billy Sharp, David McGoldrick and Leon Clarke all on the wrong side of 30, United need to some young blood upfront and Oliver McBurnie, after the season he had last term, would be an incredible addition to their squad.
McBurnie scored 22 goals in a stellar campaign in the Championship last season and his performances have caught the eye of a number of clubs. However, the Blades’ interest has been firm according to the report but Swansea are unwilling to lose another attacker after already losing Daniel James to Manchester United.
The Swans will only listen to offers in excess of £20 million for the 23-year-old attacker and the price is a fair one in this inflated summer transfer window. McBurnie will surely add a lot to the Blades’ attack next season and at just 23, he is a worthy investment.
Swansea, on the other hand, should push the fee as high as possible for McBurnie and even if they fail to sell him on this summer, they are guaranteed to receive a considerably bigger fee in either the January transfer window or next summer.
