Daniel James has been named in Swansea City’s starting XI to face Birmingham City on Tuesday, despite ongoing talk of a move to Leeds United.

The Mirror reported earlier that Leeds are confident of signing the Swansea winger ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

That is despite the newspaper’s claim the two sides have been unable to agree a fee for the player, following lengthy talks.

Swansea are said to want £12 million for James, whose contract expires in the summer, with Leeds favouring a lower fee comprising a down payment plus add-ons [The Mirror].

And any Leeds fans hoping for clues that a breakthrough has been made will be disappointed by Graham Potter’s selection.

James had not started any of Swansea’s previous three games in league and cup, but returns to face Garry Monk’s Birmingham.

The 21-year-old posted on Instagram ahead of Blues visit, suggesting that, for now at least, his focus remains with the Welsh side.
