Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton has spoken about the appointment of Bob Bradley as manager as well as the squad’s first impressions of him, as reported by Wales Online.
There have been divided opinions among fans and media alike regarding Bradley’s appointment as Francesco Guidolin’s replacement at the Liberty Sstadium.
Some believe it is a fresh change of pace and others believe it could be the catalyst for Swansea’s relegation to the Championship. Either way, it has certainly grabbed the headlines.
Veteran Britton has been through it all at the Liberty as one of only a handful of players to have played in all four tiers of English football.
The 34-year-old has played in Wales for a total of nearly 13 years, with many heralding him as a huge fan favourite, and he has now given his opinion on his new boss.
Britton said, via Wales Online: “We had a meeting on Wednesday with the new manager and he spoke very well to the group. His ideas were very good and he made an instant impression on the squad.
“He has mentioned that he wants to make the training ground a place where we come in and enjoy our work every day.
“He said he wants training to be intense, with everyone working hard, and our first session with him on the grass was really good.”
It is certainly a positive start to Bradley’s Swansea tenure, but the real test will be how the club reacts after a string of bad results has left them down in 17th.
The American’s first game following the international break will be a tough trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal.
