Swansea City’s Joel Asoro says that Tottenham Hotspur wanted him from Sunderland in the summer.

The 19-year-old striker has also explained why he turned down the chance to move to Premier League club Tottenham.
The Sweden Under-21 international joined Championship side Swansea from League One club Sunderland in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £2 million.
Asoro told SportBladet, as translated by Inside Futbol: “We sat talking to Tottenham, and they said they could not promise anything about playing time. Then I felt I could not make that choice.”
Good decision
Tottenham are a bigger club than Swansea and are also challenging for the Premier League title this season.

However, for a 19-year-old like Asoro, playing regularly for Spurs, not just for this season but in the next few years, will be tough.
The former Sunderland youngster made the right decision in choosing Swansea over Spurs despite the North London outfit playing in the Champions League this season.
Asoro has made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Swansea so far this season, providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
