Newcastle United have signed departing Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng in the summer transfer window.

Swansea City fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the signing of Ki Sung-yueng by Newcastle United.

As announced on Newcastle’s official website, the Magpies have secured the services of Ki on a free transfer.

The South Korea international midfielder was a free agent following his departure from Swansea at the end of last season.

The 29-year-old will join the Magpies on an initial two-year contract and becomes the second summer signing following the permanent deal of goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Ki joined Swansea from Scottish giants Celtic in the summer of 2012 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £6 million.

The 29-year-old midfielder established himself as an important player for the Swans over the years, and also had a loan spell at Sunderland in the 2013-14 season.
