Carroll returned to Swansea City from boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur this week.
It’s hard to believe Tom Carroll had played just 152 minutes of senior football this season, prior to joining Swansea City from Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
The midfielder was thrown straight into Paul Clement’s starting lineup against Liverpool on Saturday and produced a classy display which saw him create one goal and become heavily involved in another as the Swans returned from Anfield with a shock but deserved 3-2 win.
Carroll had previously spent a season with Swansea on loan, and even having seen him first half there were some who questioned the 24-year-old’s £4.5 million transfer.
But Carroll, along with fellow debutant Martin Olsson, wasted little time changing perceptions.

Here’s what the Swansea faithful thought of the former White Hart Lane youngster’s second debut:
Fernando Llorente’s double, the second of which was assisted by the Tottenham product, put Swansea 2-0 up on Merseyside, before Roberto Firmino scored two goals of his own to restore parity.
However, as Liverpool chased a winner Carroll wreaked havoc in the Reds’ backline, allowing Gylfi Sigurdsson to take advantage and secure the three points.

Will Tottenham Hotspur regret selling Carroll to Swansea City?
