Liverpool and Manchester City have earned Francesco Guidolin’s approval.

Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin believes that Manchester City and Liverpool are the two best teams in England right now as his side prepare to take on the Reds this weekend, he told the club’s official website.

The Swans head in to their encounter coming off the back of a 3-1 home defeat to City, a result which saw Pep Guardiola’s side extend their perfect start to the season to six straight wins.

City have a four-point gap at the top of the table, yet in pursuit are fellow title challengers Arsenal and an ever-improving Liverpool side who have already beaten the Gunners and Chelsea on the road this season.

Speaking ahead of the clash with the Merseysiders, Swansea boss Guidolin warns his side need a big performance as he currently rates Liverpool along with City as the best team in the country.

“We need a big performance, with character and courage. It’s not easy because I think at the moment, Liverpool and Manchester City are the two best teams in the country,” the Italian told Swanseacity.net.

“But these are the fixtures we have to play and we will see. Jurgen Klopp is a very good manager. He has a good team and I like his style. I think in the future, he can get very important results with Liverpool.”

Due to the redevelopment and construction of a new stand at Anfield, Liverpool opened their season with three straight away games and their game at Swansea will be their fifth trip of the campaign.

Klopp’s side head in to the game having thrashed Hull City 5-1 last weekend, and few would argue that they along with City have been the most impressive in the opening two months of the season.

Swansea will need to be wary of attackers Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho, who are all in excellent form and already have more than 10 goals between them.
